In this blog, I’ll be writing about my Christian perspective on mostly current events, bible studies, and other random thoughts through the lens of timeless principles. My writing will be U.S. centric, but likely will be very different than what is heard from many main stream, loud U.S. Christains. I will align my writing with the Bible, though I will not shy away from opinions or applications.
Like everyone else, I’m still learning and growing and expect that looking back on some of my writings, my perspective may change. The words in this blog are a snap-shot in time.
Rudder and Destination
Many people are familiar with the 10/10/10 principle. It states to consider the outcomes of your action in 10 days/10 months/10 year increments. I add to this further to consider 10/10/10/funeral/eternity. Many decisions take on a different perspective when all is stripped away at your death bed looking back on a finished life.
I am neither a pilot nor sailor, but the concept of rudder and destination has been helpful to me the last few years when plotting my course through life. The rudder represents decisions in the here and now. Small changes can make a big difference in were your boat ends up. And it’s very easy over time for small changes to get you off course if you aren’t looking longer term at the destination you’re targetting. I know for myself it’s easy over the years to vear off a bit and I think that’s true for most people and it takes a course correct. A lot of this blog will be me struggling through where I think things are off course.
